Deep River Running is a collaboration that started in 2008 between Nick Schinder and Jacqui Doherty.
Professional songwriter/singer/keyboard/guitar/producer/world citizen Nick Schinder, aka The Child (his long term project and alter ego) has written, played and produced for countless artists, both signed (Sony) and unsigned; won several contests around the world, travelled and gigged around Latin America and Europe, and released 7 albums of original music.
Lyricist Jacqueline Doherty aka Claudia Flaxton a published Poet, with the International Society of Poets. After a number of years writing screenplays and poetry for fun, she decided to take her poems and turn them into songs. She set to work with artists that could add melody to her words, Nick being the one with whom she has worked the most, up to the point where they can now call themselves a creative duo.
They have released 3 albums under that name (2009’s homonymous, 2011’s “Revolutions For The Soul” and 2013’s “One Turn Around The Sun”), all available world-widely via iTunes and most online retailers.

Professional songwriter/singer/keyboard/guitar/producer/world citizen Nick Schinder, aka The Child (his long term project and alter ego) has written, played and produced for countless artists, both signed (Sony) and unsigned; won several contests around the world, travelled and gigged around Latin America and Europe, and released 7 albums of original music.
Nick Schinder was born in Argentina where in 1999 he founded The Child.
By the end of 2000, The Child got to be one of the 20 finalists of the 1st Ibero- American Contest of Internet Music, organized by Universal. Altogether 2700 musicians participated, from all over Latin America, Spain and even the U.S.A. They’ve also reached the semi-finals of the First Latin-American Beatle Week, by playing their own special versions of some of Beatles songs.
In 2002, they moved to Barcelona, Spain, where they usually played at many historical music places in the city, such as Kennedy, London Pub, La Ruta dels Elefants, El Forum and Maremagnum.
In 2003 they reached the semifinals of the Demo Project organized by the International Festival of Benicassim, 2003, one of the greatest festivals in pop, electro and the indie scene in continental Europe. In that same year, The Child produced its second album, “Home”, which begins to define the sound of the band: an unclassifiable pop, post rock, electro and world music blend, heterodox material and exquisite vocals.
In January 2005 The Child launched its third LP, Format Soul. This became a year of international projection, playing numerous gigs in London and Munich.
In 2007, Nick and The Child move to London, where they release their fourth album, “Think Loud”, and tour the UK intensively (The Marquee Club, The Comedy, The Long Acre, Bull & Gate, Hope & Anchor, The Water Rats, Storm, Sound, The Dublin Castle, The Bullet Bar,).
