Artist Biography

With some impressive L.A. accomplishments behind him, singer/songwriter Mike Officer is calling St. Louis home and molding a new sound that mixes Pop, Alternative and Folk into a tasty audio stew.

In the words of Los Angeles music reviewer Ebony March, Mike Officer "won some serious validation" in Southern California, and was described as "an intoxicating slice of down-home charm."

Having opened for B.B. King, performed at the Musician’s Institute graduation ceremony, and being a semi-finalist in the “Show Me The Music” national songwriting contest in Memphis, TN, Mike Officer’s career is one of diversity. Lyrically driven and genre-blending, his latest release titled "The Jupiter Sessions" EP expresses his unique style and powerful vocals.

 

Mike Officer solidified his music career after attending the Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles, where he was selected as an honorary performer at the graduation ceremony and won Songwriter of the Year from the San Diego Songwriters Guild. He began playing gigs around the L.A. area before opening for the legendary B.B. King and touring with the Kory Montgomery Band. He currently performs in the St. Louis area.

 

His ability to push the creative envelope and avoid being lampooned into a single genre is just part of what drives Mike Officer’s music. By crafting unique melodies behind a backdrop of thoughtful lyrics, he is able to créate a shining example of divergent sound in a time of primarily recycled material.

 

His latest release The Jupiter Sessions EP beautifully blends pop, indie, and Americana into a single entity.

 

Crafted using Pro Tools, The Jupiter Sessions EP is named for the premier St. Louis studio at which it was recorded. Over the next six months, Officer plans to expand his fan base via independent radio stations and is gearing up to embark on a tour across the Midwest. A name that is sure to show up on a number of independent music sites in the coming months, Officer’s new music is currently available on Bandcamp, iTunes, and other online music outlets.
