Very little is known about xx72xx, save for a brief description of his music across various social media platforms. With a personality more guarded than those who are part of a witness protection program, appreciation is already showing from listeners eager for more bass in their lives. The Climax E.P. is sure to please in that regard, featuring four songs of twisted dance fare from the innermost sanctum of the nearest subwoofer. It’s a trip that lasts just under 15 minutes, but will take you through the sonically sweet and sadistic all at once.

“Imagining” kicks things off with demented dancehall rhythms assisted by light synthesizer melodies that happily skip down a twisted path of metal scrapes and percussion snaps. Ominous warbling rises to the surface as the beat morphs into hip-hop mode, snare pads cracking in the wind with bullwhip ferocity. A brief break in the action produces a rhythm-free segment rife with voices and blood-curdling growls over eerie chords before the dancehall break kicks in again. “Movement” picks up the tempo with a house thump dragged through static and malevolent gusts of speaker-rupturing frequencies. A low-end melody bounces underneath samples of cinematic strings, building the tension as the locked groove chugs forward.

The inviting sonic pulses that open “Breathing” are merely a cover for far more sinister sounds ahead. The beat drops without warning, quickly eclipsed by downright ugly, jagged synth lines that threaten to suffocate the other song elements. As upright bass slaps attempt to restore some calm, the unintelligible utterances of a high-pitched voice (sounding like a chipmunk in a straitjacket) along with intense orchestral stabs reaffirms that serenity won’t arrive anytime soon. “Climax” closes out the release on a dark dubstep note, marrying earthquake rumbles with maniacal laughter and vocal slivers of orgasmic ecstasy. Stadium-sized keyboard riffs force their way to the front of the selection while elastic bass lines stretch and mutate throughout the track.

For a debut release, xx72xx has put together an impressive selection of tunes full of experimental touches and slight nods to industrial’s dystopian atmosphere, all while staying in step with the changing tides of bass-centered dance music. The songs featured on Climax will keep the bass junkies on the dance floor, having no qualms with surrendering their bodies as slaves to the rhythm.

Biography:

US Bass Producer xx72xx emerged on the scene at the end of 2012 with 1 track on his soundcloud page that was there briefly followed by a 2nd track that was up for a shorter period of time and then both vanished.

In January 2013 he reemerged with a 4 track EP titled "Climax" which is a blend of Dubstep, Garage, House and Hip Hop. Acid Teds blog described it as IDM claustrophobic doom and whacking sub-bass filtered through a dubstep sensibility.

Hot1000Forever decribed the EP as Futuristic, dark & cinematic. Fans of Future Garage and artists such as Burial that like their music w/ a dark haunting vibe should check this out today.

Soundplate music blog described the opening track of the EP "Imagining" as Seriously dark, deep sounds here from US producer xx72xx. Techno, bass music however you describe it – this is music that is hard to ignore.
