The band has been exciting audiences and fans in high profile regional venues for the past few years and is at the pinnacle of blowing up huge and becoming a household name in and among the rock communities in a wide range of demographics from younger to older fans. The band is fronted by established songwriter and lead vocalist/guitarist Derek Norsworthy. He is joined in the band by three other rock steady musicians, bassist and vocalist Jeremy Smith, Guitarist and vocalist Adam Cook, and Byron Cox on drums. The combination of these four highly creative and energetic musicians, all working together in ultimate harmony, provide the killer foundation and final polished product known as Mississippi’s Lookin 4 Juice. Hesitant to be placed in any particular “Sounds Like” category, the band insists that they have a unique mainstream sound of their own that appeals to the toughest fans and critics. They do however, cite influences from a wide variety of icon acts such as Jimi Hendrix, Foo Fighters, Tom Petty, Led Zepplin, Incubus, Bon Jovi, and AreoSmith. Emphasizing a lyrically powerful style, the band’s members find inspiration from artists who are true to what they do and never forget where they came from once they have reached the pinnacle of success; artists and bands who reach out to millions by writing and performing honest and musically tasteful songs. When asked if the songs and music come from within or from what he observes around him, Derek replied, “to me, music is an expression of life’s experiences and emotions all wrapped up in melody, lyrics, and instrumentation. I write about situations in my own life as well as situations I observe from other’s lives”. Lookin 4 Juice is no stranger to touring and bringing their high energy performance to some of the highest profile regional venues such as The Hard Rock Café in Biloxi and Memphis, Mississippi Coast Coliseum for the Crawfish Festival, the 2011 Covey awards, and the Work Play Center in Birmingham, Alabama, among many others. They have shared the stage with numerous national artists the likes of Neuro Sonic, 12 Stones, Sister Seria, Sore Eyes, Papercut Massacre, and Park Lane, just to name a few. It is this bands relentless pursuit, after a high energy performance, to leave their fans and audiences feeling as though they have seen and felt something real, and that they have just witnessed music and emotion in its utmost and purist form. To date, Lookin 4 Juice has released two albums, “Lookin 4 Juice” in 2005, and “Listen Tonight” in 2008. They are currently in the studio working on their third album with grammy winning producer Skidd Mills in Nashville TN which is earmarked for release sometime in late 2011. Selected songs on the bands past albums has received extensive radio play on local, national, and international radio stations and podcasts’ worldwide. Retaining their artistic integrity, once they blow up and become a household name will not be an issue for this young talented rock band.
